From President's Desk
Federation of Indian Physiological Societies (FIPS) is committed to pursue the research in the field of Human & Animal Physiology and excellence in education in India since its inception at New Delhi. With start of human civilization, people are trying to understand the mechanism of various body functions and the challenges are many folds. With the technological advances and availability of modern scientific tools it has become possible to unveil the mechanism of action of various body functions. This century belongs to the biological & physiological scientist that will play important role in unraveling the functioning of systems.
In less than 20 years the fusion of technologies and Multidisciplinary and Multistructured approaches has gain momentum with generation of tremendous information in the knowledge bank of physiological understanding. The very fact that physiology has been given a separate identity even in the Nobel Prize awards, points towards the importance that this branch of science had been enjoying in the past in order to face the challenges of the future and make effective scientific progress, physiologists, as a whole, will have to interact with the other science faculties. The common umbrella provided by the FIPS, the Indian physiologists should begin the new millennium by reorganizing their branch as a new science, distinct in its approach and unique in its strategy directed to the common goal of understanding the logic of life in all its entirety.
FIPS is the only recognized scientific platform in India which provides the platform for animal and human physiology along with related field of biological sciences.
The new office bearer of FIPS has been constituted during the Executive/General Body meeting held on 11 Jan 2013 at Delhi. We welcome constructive criticism and any sort of suggestion to improve our beloved organization. In coming future we will organize various programme and events to popularize physiology in country.
